Last week, a teaching artist from the Flynn Center came in to help us prepare for tomorrow's field trip to watch the performance of Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse! Half of the class performed their dramatic retelling of the story while the other half of the class participated as audience members!
Performing gave us an idea of how hard the actors have to work while on stage and how they can change the story just by the way they decide to act it out. Participating as an audience member gave us a chance to practice how to watch a show respectfully!
Both groups did a great job but I only had enough storage on the camera to record one of the performances! Hope you enjoy it!

This week, Suzanna came back again to help us process our experience at the Flynn. We identified some of the feelings that Lilly had in the play and then made shapes to show those feelings. We worked together to create a tableau. Thanks so much to our amazing partnership with the Flynn Center for providing these companion workshops.
